ENFIELD 1

Reece Beckles-Richards 74

WEYMOUTH 0

A lacklustre Weymouth were defeated away at Enfield in a game that had few chances in the capital.

The Terras came into the game off the back of a five match unbeaten run, however, Reece Beckles-Richards came off the bench to score the games only goal, and sink Mark Molesley's side to their eighth league defeat of the season.

Molesley reverted back to the same eleven that drew with Winchester last Saturday in the FA Cup, despite a changed eleven beating the Hampshire-based club in the midweek replay.

Neither side offered much in the way of attacking prowess in the first half, but Enfield did hit the woodwork twice in the opening twenty minutes.

First a header from Sam Youngs came crashing back off the crossbar, before Alfie Tuck smashed the upright with a half-volley.

Euan Pollock was denied by some good Enfield defending after the striker ran through into the box, only to see his shot deflected out for a corner.

Of the two sides it was Enfield who created more openings, with Jake Hutchinson denied by Will Buse midway through the half.

Weymouth would come close just before the break though, but Keelan O'Connell could not find a way past Rhys Forster in the Enfield goal.

As the teams came out for the second half, Molesley made several changes as he looked to get his team firing.

The introduction of Ben Greenwood almost proved fruitful with the wing back involved in a string of chances just after the hour mark, creating opportunities for Tom Bearwish and Pollock before testing Forster with a free kick.

Enfield would break the deadlock with fourteen minutes to go though, as Beckles-Richards powered a loose ball into the corner of the net.

With the tie entering the final ten minutes, Weymouth had arguably their best spell of the game as they searched for an equaliser.

The best chance of which came after some good play from Brooklyn Genesini who found Bearwish in the box, with Andy Robinson firing in a shot from the rebound.

The Terras could not find a way through though, and in all honesty, probably didn't deserve anything from a game in which they just didn't turn up.

Defeat now means Weymouth have lost eight games this season in the Vanarama National League South and sit 23rd in the table.

Only St Albans have a worse record than the Terras and Molesley will be hoping for a marked improvement when the team take on Portland in the Dorset Cup on Tuesday night.
