Week three round up of the South and West Dorset Netball League saw Coastal Cheese maintain their 100 per cent record in Division One.

In Division One, First fit started off strong but Coastal’s GD Alex Cocker didn’t make things easy for the shooters. 

Coastal played with excellence, with Laura Cox being a power on court, although, great shooting from First Fit’s GS Kathy Sims and strong mid court play from their WA Hayley Stanton saw both teams even at the end of the quarter

Coastal’s Cocker was a force to be reckoned with and made many successful interceptions.  First Fit’s C Sandra Firth played a key role making some great interceptions which enabled her team to pull ahead and with GD Becci Chance keeping the pressure on Coastal’s shooters. 

The scores remained even throughout the game with outstanding shooting from Coastal’s dream team shooters GS Camilla Assirati and Cox as they regained the lead. 

First Fit edged closer to Coastal and fought hard although Assirati found space on court with ease enabling her team to edge Coastal into the lead

Coastal’s Cox continued to impress on court making First Fit’s defence work hard and forced some errors in the shooting circle.  Both teams played well but Coastal won mainiting their winning start to the season.

Elsewhere in Division One, Warriors made a strong start with some excellent attacking netball which put them in an early lead. 

Joe Newton stepped up a gear after a slow start with great work in the channel from their C Emma Andre and WA Molly Horton to provide the shooters with every chance, which they took and scored to level it up by the end of the quarter.

Both teams stayed in touching distance of each other with end to end goals throughout in what was a well matched game, but Warriors held the lead at the end of the third quarter by one goal.

Pressure from both teams saw some great, fast play with confident defending from Joe Newton’s defence which gave allowed them to take the lead and secure their first win of the season.

In the top flight New Body started strong taking an early lead against the Wildcats, although, GD Serenna Brodrick made some good interceptions enabling them to close the gap. 

New Body’s defence made it hard for Wildcats shooters to receive the ball into the circle and led by five goals at the end of the quarter

Wildcats came out fighting with some excellent shooting with WA Nancy Garman making great runs down the court for the ball but  New Body’s shooters extended their lead

Wildcats made some changes which saw them close the gap, although, New Body’s defence was hard to break down.  Wildcats shooting partnership of GS Niamh Seeley and GA Frankie Eversden helped close the gap despite New Body making turnovers and passing the ball quickly down the court

Both teams made some brilliant interceptions in an even last quarter, with everyone fighting for the ball with the game ended in a draw.

In Division Two, Waves executed the ball perfectly down the court to their GS Niamh Leneghan and GA Rosa Russell who produced some early goals but some good defending from Sirens made the shooters work hard. 

Waves GD Becca Wood caused disruption to Sirens shooters but they held the lead by one goal.

Some  good interceptions by Sirens WA Caroline Baines and accurate passing from Waves GD Becca Wood saw Waves take a one goal lead in the second quarter.

Sirens dominated possession at the start of the third quarter with their GA Jemima Gomm making some brilliant shots, coupled with some amazing feeds from C Freya Cartwright, which saw Sirens take the lead.

Waves continued to fight for the ball with their GK Izzy Hyde snatching the rebounds but Sirens took the win.
