Weymouth boss Mark Molesley wants a 'professional' performance from his side when they take on Winchester in the FA Cup this weekend.

It has been a good couple of weeks for the Terras, having now gone unbeaten in their last three games.

A Vanarama National League South win over Dorking Wanderers was backed up with a draw against Worthing last time out at the Bob Lucas.

Sandwiched between those two fixtures was a 4-1 win in the FA Cup second qualifying round over Southern League side Sholing.

Now Molesely's side travel to Winchester - also a Southern League outfit - and the Terras boss is looking for the team to maintain their good form and is wary of getting complacent against a team in a lower league.

Speaking to the Echo, he said: "I think what is key is carrying on the momentum we have created but we must show Winchester respect.

"They always play well as the underdog and it is always a tough place to go. They have a mix of experience and exceptional young players and it will be a really big challenge and we have to be on it.

"They will thrive on being the underdog, so we have to be professional and execute our game plan."

He added: "We have experienced players ourselves and they need to lead by example and carry on the good work, and it is vital we match that consistency and vital we show the right attitude."

Molesley will still be missing three of his key players for the tie though, with Brandon Goodship and Malachi Linton still long term absentees from the squad, although, the terras boss revealed they are 'working hard behind the scenes'.

Another player who will miss the trip to Hampshire is Ben Greenwood but is not quite ready to return to the matchday squad.

On Greenwood, Molesley said: "He is another one doing good work and he is getting close but not close enough, but he is the next one to return.

Will Buse is expected to keep his place in goal with Billy Terrell also still not fit enough to play.

However, Molesley provided a positive update on the AFC Bournemouth player who has returned to training with his parent club.

Euan Pollock is expected to shake off a knock after a coming together with Worthing's keeper last weekend but will be assessed ahead of the game.

The Terras boss did reveal the keeper is 'upping his rehab' and is 'not too far away' from a potential return to the club.

A win for Weymouth will see them into the hat for Monday's fourth qualifying round draw and put them one step closer to the first round proper of the competition.

Kick off at The City Ground is at 3pm on Saturday, September 28
