Dorchester Town manager Tom Killick is keeping his feet on the ground after the club's third straight win.

In the lead up to the Southern League tie with Chertsey, the Magpies coach had been keen to stress the club did not get too far ahead of themselves after beating league leaders AFC Totton.

This was a point he reiterated to his squad prior to the 3-1 win over the Surrey based club on Saturday and wasn't completely pleased with the team's performance, despite the win.

MATCH REPORT: Dorchester Town 3-1 Chertsey Town

Speaking to the club's social media channels after the game, he said: "I was worried about how are mentality would be because there was so much euphoria surrounding teh Totton result, and it is so easy after a result like that that you are a bit flat.

"We spoke about it a lot, how it was important we maintain the same levels, and I didn't think we were quite there.

"Chertsey were good, they caused us a lot of problems and we just didn't have everything our own way - it wasn't an easy game by any means and we were not at our best, particularly in the first half.

Goals from Olaf Koszela and Shaq Gwengwe secured the three points at the Avenue and the Magpies boss did highlight his attackers for being clinical in the game.

He added"We have been clinical, which has not always been the case with us and we defended pretty well, one lapse with the goal.

"I won't say we ground out a result but we won a game without playing amazingly well."

The Magpies now have a weekend off with their next game against Tiverton in the FA Trophy on Saturday, October 5.
