Balti Sports poor form continued as they were thrashed by Cobham Sports.

Both sides were looking to put the disappointment of the midweek cup defeats behind them as they faced off at Merley Park on Saturday.

With the score 2-0 at half time, young 16-yearold Harrison Wood had kept the home side in the game, much to the bewilderment of the travelling support who felt they should have been further ahead at the break.

However, despite Woods heroics, the young Balti keeper could do nothing to stop the second half onslaught that was to follow.

Tadgh Case led the way for Cobham with four goals, Josh Buck helped himself to a hat trick and man of the match award.

Goals came from Dan Brown, Ellis George and 16-year-old Josh Toop, with his first senior goal, completed the rout for Cobham.

Cobham were in the faces of their opponents straight from the whistle forcing early corners which were dealt with comfortably by Balti's backline.

Enter into the fray, Harrison Wood, he saved well from Charlie Shears in the 13th minute and again in the 22nd minute, but the Cobham striker should have done better.

It was one way traffic and Cobham hit the front in the 25th minute, Case having a field day down the left and crossed, Buck's shot was parried and Dan Brown was on hand to put Cobham one up.

Cobham added to there score just three minutes later when a fine cross from Brown was clipped first time into the corner of the net by Buck.

The away side laid siege on the Balti goal for the rest of the half and a mixture of good keeping and some inept finishing kept the score at 2-0 going into the break.

Despite the score, Balti would have felt that they were still in the game and they started the second half well, but that would only last ten minutes.

Cobham's Brown found Buck with an incisive pass in the 56th minute, and made no mistake adding Cobham’s third.

This was the start of the floodgates being opened as on 60 minutes they went four up with Case netting after Buck had an effort parried by Wood.

A minute later a superb pass from Harvey Elsom found Case and the tricky winger made it five.

Josh Toop entered the fray and hit the bar in the 65th minute and as Cobham were piling on the pressure Buck didn’t cover himself in any glory by missing two sitters.

Cobham went six up in the 77th minute as Buck completed his hat trick before Case completed the same feat with Cobham’s seventh.

Balti had no answer but Wood was still thwarting Cobham at times but he had no back up from his defence.

Goas from George, Toop and a fourth from Case in the final ten minutes compounded Balti's woes.
