Came Down Golf Club saw a hole in one in the final of its Southcourt Cup.
The final between Carolyn & Roger Pike and Jan Steadman & Steve Broadhurst, with the Pikes coming out victorius in a keenly contested match.
During the match, Carolyn achieved a hole-in-one at the 114yd Par 3 10th, a particular blow to their opponents in the foursomes match.
The Southcourt Cup is the oldest of the Came Down trophies which was presented to the Old Dorchester Club in 1897 by Alfred Pope when he became the first president of the club.
Elsewhere at the club, Ladies’ captain, Sharon Gibson, invited the ladies to join her for an away day at Ashley Wood at the beginning of September.
Everyone enjoyed the day; the course; and the excellent meal afterwards.
Prizes were presented to the winners, Alma Walker, Sharon Gibson & Carolyn Pike with an excellent score of 83.
Runners up spot with 79 points were Sue Harris, Christine Wells & Margaret Jones, and in 3rd Erica Howard, Rachel Horne & Jackie Fuggle.
