Dorchester Sports boss Ashley James is 'delighted' to have snapped up former Weymouth defender Sam Poole
The defender spent more than a decade with the Terras having joined the club's youth set up as an 11-year-old.
Poole also had spells with Wimborne, Dorchester Town, and more recently Portland United were he was player manager for two years, leaving the club in 2022.
Since then, the former Terras man has been without a club, but he has been convinced to join up with James' Dorset premier League side, marking his debut for the club with a goal against Balti Sports in the cup on Wednesday.
On signing Poole, James said: "He's played in the Southern League so it is massive for us.
"He was brilliant for us against Balti and we are delighted to get the signing.
"We have been trying to get him for the last year.
"A lot of our players know him and he has now decided to put the boots back on.
"He wont play every game because of work commitments, but if he plays more than he misses it will be huge for us."
