Josh Hickman has said his Blues team he was left 'buzzing' after a hard fought 2-1 win over US Portsmouth.

The new Blues joint-manager was 'delighted' with the Blues performance in his and Shaun Bessant's first game in charge.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: "I'm absolutely delighted, it was a real positive performance.

"The performances have been good this year and with that the results will come.

"I am buzzing for the lads after a tough week and to go there and get a result I'm ecstatic.

"It is a tough place to go and it was their first home game of the season so we had to be patient and take our opportunities.

"We could have taken more of those chances and we made it harder for ourselves but it was a real show of character."

Hickman is also looking forward to his first home game with Christchurch visiting the Camp and Satherley tonight (7.45pm).

He added: "Me and Besso are excited for our first home game, they will be physical and happy off the ball and a threat on transitions.

Greg Borthwick, Pat Jenkins and Ben Holloway are all unavailable for the tie, but Tom Peach could return from illness and Darren Husher returns from suspension.
