Weymouth manager Mark Molesley has said the club's first win of the season has been 'a  long time coming'.

Goals from Calvin Brooks and debutant Jake Scrimshaw saw the Terras earn their first win and points of the Vanarama National League South campaign with a 2-1 win over Dorking Wanderers.

Molesley believes his side has been 'hard done by' this season with injuries and decisions going against them.

However, with three points on the board and off bottom place, the Terras coach is looking to kick start their season.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: "It's been a long time coming, too long coming.

"we should have had it earlier but we got caught in a vicious circle and feel hard done by as we have been on the end of some dubious decisions, it's why the win was so big.

"Hopefully it can be the start of a change in our fortunes and we can use it as a catalyst to spring forward.

"The lads rolled their sleeves up and I was delighted for the fans and the players who deserved the win.

"Psychologically it's a huge win, but that is gone now and it's about what comes next, we have a lot of catching up to do."

There was a nervy finish to the game though, as Dorking pulled one back in added time.

When asked about having to see out the game after conceding late on, Molesey added: "The goal was disappointing, we really wanted the clean sheet but we got there in the end.

"We were just desperate for the final whistle, the way the season has gone so far anything could have gone against us."
