MAGPIES striker Shaquille Gwengwe is aiming to be the club's top goal scorer for the third season in a row after opening his account against Frome on Saturday.

The Dorchester striker scored the club's second goal in the win over the Somerset-based club and was speaking to the club's social media channel after the match.

He said: "I think for myself, as a striker of the team I hadn't broken that duck, but now I'm happy I got my first goal and I can kick on.

"I have to remain hungry for goals and hopefully I can win it [the golden boot] again for a third time.

"That's my target, more goals, I got 17 last season, so hopefully I can break that.

He added: "I'm happy for Wayne (Robinson) as well to get on the scoresheet - there is confidence in the attacking line."

Gwengwe also spoke about the club's performances so far this season and has acknowledge the team has not been at its best in the opening six games of the campaign.

He said: "We had a real strong performance today (September 7) in front of our fans, obviously the season has not started as well as we would have liked .

"Also, individually I got injured early on in the season, but I am happy to get on the scoresheet and hopefully kick on."

The striker was also asked about his goal in the 4-0 win over Frome which saw Corby Moore take a quick free kick to catch the opposition off guard.

When asked if it had been something the team had worked on in training, Gwengwe added: "Bit of of work from training.

"Corby shouted my name and I made a run, took it with my first touch to set myself, then shifted it and finished."
