Balti Sports welcome back 'outstanding defender' in bid to sure up defence against Hamworthy Recreation reserves.

The Weymouth-based club face the Hammers in the Dorset Premier League this weekend at Weymouth College Sports Centre and will be looking to tighten things up at the back after conceding 19 goals in their last five game.

Speaking to Echosport ahead of the midtable clash, joint manager Rob Marquis said: "We have a few out, although we are fortunate to have Louie James available again who is an outstanding defender.

"Last week at Wimborne, we were slow to deal with their number 10 who was getting a lot space and causing problems.

"Once we worked that out we got on top and made up for it after finding ourselves behind to turn it around with late goals to win, with the winner coming from Henri Cox in the last minute.

"We hope to carry that into Saturday’s game."

Despite only picking up seven points from their opening six games, Marquis is expecting the team to keep improving as the season goes on.

He added: "We are still developing, this is some of our players first experience of adult football, so there will be a period of time to get it right.

"We have a group of very talented players who will only get better as the season progresses."

Kick off at Weymouth College Sports Centre is at 3pm on Saturday, September 7.
