Weymouth's latest signing has been described as a 'huge talent' by Mark Molesley.
The Terras announced the permanent signing of winger Jordan Maguire-Drew just before their 1-0 defeat against Hampton & Richmond on Tuesday night (September 3).
The 26-year-old had his contact mutually terminated by local rivals Yeovil on Monday and was registered in time to face Hampton, making his debut for the club in the starting 11.
Molesley's side have been suffering from a string of injuries, particularly in the forward areas, with players such as Brandon Goodship, Keelan O'Connell, Malachi Linton and Josh McQuoid all on the treatment table.
The addition of the former Brighton academy player has been welcomed by Molesley who thinks he will fit in well to the side.
He said: "[He is] a really important signing, he gives a lot of experience but his best is yet to come, a huge talent, technically very good, and I like to think that the way we play will get the best out of him.
"He's got to get the best out of himself as well, he's got a great football CV and is a hugely talented player and we are here to give him the best that we have to get him to play his best football, because if we do that he is one hell of a player."
After leaving Brighton's under 23s, Maguire-Drew joined Leyton Orient where he made 69 appearances, scoring 12 goals for the London-based club, playing in League One and League Two.
A move to Grimsby followed where he made 28 appearances, scoring seven goals, including the winner in a National League playoff final, before moving to Yeovil.
Last season, the winger was shipped out on loan to National League side Barnet where he made 12 appearances.
Molesley added: "We are going to have to be quite patient as he hasn't played a lot of football lately.
"What we have done is secure a really good player, not just to help us in the short term, but building long term this is going to be a really good acquisition for us,
