Weymouth, who are still in search of their first win of this season, will travel to Slough Town this weekend in the National League South.

The Terras are having their worst start to a league campaign for more than 100 years and will travel to Arbour Park in Berkshire today (Saturday, August 31) to play the side ranked in first place.

Weymouth have not found the back of the net in their last four league games, something that boss Mark Molesley said he has been looking to change. They currently sit in last place with no points on the board.

The Terras did show promise in Monday’s narrow 1-0 defeat against Eastbourne Borough, and had a golden opportunity when Joe Wright twice deflected the efforts of Ezio Touray before Andreas Robinson’s rebound was smothered by the goalkeeper.

Molesley’s side were undone in the first 63 minutes in from a stunning free kick from around 30 yards out. Siyabonga Ligendza stepped up and curled the ball into the top right corner beyond Terrell’s outstretched gloves.

Slough Town have started the season well, winning their last three matches, and would be having a perfect start if not for a 1-0 loss away to Salisbury in the second matchday.

The Terras will have to be wary of the goal scoring presence that the Rebels have on offer, shown in their 6-1 demolition away to Enfield Town earlier this month that saw both attacking threats Kweku-Conrad Lucan and Slavi Spasov net braces.

Lucan was on target again in Slough’s last fixture on Bank Holiday Monday- a 3-0 victory over minnows Aveley.

Molesley said his side was frustrated at coming out of the Bank Holiday weekend with no points and expects tough opposition against today’s opponents. He said: “We’re not deterred by the result- the fire burns deep.

Heaping praise onto Rebels manager Scott Davies, Molesley said: “We have started to have a few doubters, and people will jump on us for the results but it’s early on in our journey and we have not had the consistency yet.

“Scotty was manager of the year last season, the side were fantastic and they started last season similar to us and finished just outside of the playoff places.

“Our performances are improving, and we are one win away from that bit of confidence and that real feel good moment. We have to use the adversity we have faced to make us stronger, work hard and get the rub of the green. It’s time for a cool head.”

The Terras could be without Brandon Goodship, who was undergoing scans following an injury on Monday after returning from injury. Molseley said that the injury summed up his side’s luck in the narrow defeat and he is hoping that he will be fit.
