Terras boss Mark Molesley said that he was frustrated by the Bank Holiday weekend results, but insists the best is yet to come from his team.

Weymouth suffered back-to-back defeats against Boreham Wood and Eastbourne Borough last weekend, meaning that they are yet to pick up a point from their opening five league games.

Speaking exclusively to the Echo after the game, Molesley said: “There was frustration coming out of the Bank Holiday weekend with no points. We deserved more but the only stat that mattered was the score line.

“It was a very cruel defeat [on Monday], a wonder strike from a free kick 30 yards out but you can’t afford to act like the victim- these things are here to test us and make us stronger.

“Our confidence has not waivered through these tough times and the best is yet to come.”

Heaping praise upon his players throughout the start of he season, Molesley said: “They were amazing- I didn’t see a difference in performance or work ethic on both games over the weekend.

Brandon Goodship, who made his return to the starting 11 on Monday, had to be taken off after suffering an injury.

Molesley said that this ‘summed up’ the Terras luck on the day. He said: “We are waiting to see how Brandon is doing- he had limited minutes during pre-season and we could not wait to see him on the pitch but he got caught up in the block tackle. Fingers crossed he’s okay but it compounded the day in a nartow defeat.”

Next up for the Terras is a trip to Slough Town on Saturday afternoon (August 31).
