CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2

Weymouth continued their poor start to the season with a third consecutive defeat in the National League South.

Chippenham Town secured all three points at the Bob Lucas with goals from Luke Spokes and Will Dawes either side of half time.

Despite creating several chances and having a goal ruled out for offside, the Terras were unable to break the Bluebirds down.

Mark Molesley made a couple changes to the starting line up with Leo Hamblin, and Andreas Robinson coming in for Francis Amartey and Euan Pollock.

Ben Greenwood was pushed into a more advanced role as Hamblin slotted in to left back.

Weymouth would get an early warning sign just six minutes in after Chippenham had the ball in the back of the net.

Tyreke Johnson wheeled away in celebration only for the goal to be ruled offside.

Chippenham's number 7 was soon involved again but the winger's volley was saved by Billy Terrell.

Malachi Linton then set up Terras skipper Tom Bearwish but the midfielder could not direct his effort on target.

With just over a quarter of an hour played, both sides were forced into an early change as Caine Bradbury was brought on to replace the injured Jake Evans for Chippenham and Greenwood was pulled off for Pollock.

Pollock was straight into the action though, running through on goal but saw his shot deflected out for a corner.

Half an hour in and Chippenham would opened the scoring after a long ball from Will Dawes found Harry Parsons in the box.

The forward spun and found Spokes on the edge of the area who then fired the ball into the top corner.

Weymouth tried to instantly get level with Hamblin trying his luck from a tight angle before Linton came agonisingly close with a header inside the box.

Just before half time Weymouth would go close again but Corey Jordan's header was ruled out for offside.

Molesley's side came out with intent in the second half as Brooklyn Genesini unleashed a thunderous strike before Robinsion sent in a dipping strike just wide of the post.

However, Chippenham would capitalise on a defensive error on the edge of the box which allowed Dawes to fire in from 12 yards.

With 20 minutes left, Molesley brought on Goodhsip, Ezio Touray and Calvin Brooks for Linton, Bearwish and Josh McQuoid as his side pushed for a goal.

Goodship's introduction made an almost instant impact after starting an attack which ended with Charlie Rowan firing wide.

Fareed Salifu was then introduced with around ten minutes and almost opened his account for the club.

However, the young striker was denied by Henry who saved his headed effort.

The defeat now leaves Weymouth bottom of the table after three games.

Next up for The Terras is a trip third place Boreham Wood on Saturday, August 24
