Portland United Reserves beat Bridport Reservesat home on Wednesday night in the Dorset Premier League after scoring three second half goals.

Despite taking the lead through Callum Arnold, the Bees were pegged back by the hosts with Josh Tenant and Troy Walbridge both grabbing braces to secure three point for the Blues.

Bridport started the match well by dominating possession and keeping Portland pinned back in their own half.

The Bees created several opportunities early on which led to Arnold opening the scoring for the visitors.

The striker pounced on a loose ball and poked home from inside the box.

As the first half progressed, the Blues grew into the game and created several chances of their own.

Despite the Bees strong start, a lapse in concentration just before the break allowed Portland to equalize, leaving the score level at the break.

The second half saw the Blues take control in the middle of the park which allowed them to  dictating the pace of the game with sharp distribution and intelligent movement.

Bridport were unable to keep hold of the ball and struggled to close down the space, which led to them conceding three more goals as the Blues took their chances in clinical fashion.

Bees assistant manager Adam Herring responded by adjusting the formation and making a series of substitutions, which helped to steady the ship for the away side.

However, by this point, the damage had been done, and Bridport were unable to find the goals to get themselves back in the tie.

Portland deservedly took all three points, leaving to reflect on a game where a strong start ultimately gave way to a disappointing finish.
