Balti Sports were held to a 0-0 draw in their Dorset Premier League opener against Hamworthy United Reserves.
Balt's joint manager Rob Marquis was 'pleased' with his sides performance with many new faces in the team.
The opening 15 minutes saw a bit of cat and mouse with neither team wanting to give too much away as they grew into the game.
Hamworthy dominated possession in the first half without creating too much going forward with both keepers having very little to do.
In the second half Balti came close to opening the scoring after a shot took a wicked deflection that wrong footed the Hamworthy keeper, only to see the ball clip the outside of the post.
The home side continued to dominate with the ball but both sides created chances in what was a very even game.
Hamworthy’s Arche Southern was put through late into the game but Balti keeper Theo Sadeji made a brilliant save to deny the home side a winner.
Speaking to Echopsort, Marquis said: "Getting a clean sheet, you can't argue with that.
"We hit the post and had a couple of other chances but so did they in all fairness. The draw was not an unfair result."
"I felt we were perhaps unfortunate up front but I was pleased with the performance and you don't lose games with clean sheets."
Next up for Balti is a trip to Dorchester Sports on Tuesday night (August 13).
When asked about the game, Marquis added: "Ben Dunster and Adam Batchelor are unavailable but Jake Hawker and Henri Cox come back into the squad.
"We are looking forward to the game and we will give it our best shot."
