Weymouth boss Mark Molesley says he will give his players 'the benefit of the doubt' after a disappointing 2-0 defeat on Saturday.
The Terras ended their pre-season schedule with a loss to Tom Killick's Magpies with goals from Jordan Ngalo and Olaf Koszela clinching victory for the visitors at the Bob Lucas.
Despite being 'disappointed' with the result, Molesley recognised that the players have worked hard in pre-season and the defeat can be used as a learning opportunity for the squad.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: "It is a feeling of disappointment because of the standards we have set were missing.
"But I will give the players the benefit of the doubt that the lads are in protection mode, they have worked hard and we have been tested a lot.
"Credit to Dorchester as well, as we knew they would be a tough test and they gave us a good challenge."
He added: "I think the players looked tired because we have worked them really hard this week as it is still pre-season, hopefully we can learn lesson from it but we are disappointed as you don't want to lose any game.
"At the same time it could be used to serve as a reminder to us how difficult the challenge of this season is going to be and that we are right on our game at all times."
