Weymouth boss Mark Molesley says he is looking to the whole squad to contribute this season - not just the starting line up.

Ahead of tomorrow's final pre-season game against Dorchester at the Bob Lucas (3pm), the Terras coach says he is 'pleased' with the 'strong' squad he has assembled over the summer.

The club has brought in new signings such as Francis Amartey, Malachi Linton, Brooklyn Genesini, Ben Greenwood and Euan Pollock to bolster the squad.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: "I am pleased I have got a really strong 16 players, and there could be 17 or 18 by the time the season gets underway, its all really competitive.

"You have to look at the squad as a whole and not just the starting eleven.

"The whole squad will need to be used throughout the season with so many games to play, and I will have to shuffle the pack and it will be horses for courses at times depending on who we play."

The Terras coach also admitted that when players such as Calvin Brooks, Brandon Goodship and Keelan O'Connell return from injury, it will leave him with 'headache' over selection but was pleased to have such depth.

He added: "I can't have anyone feeling to comfortable and I want each player to be the best they can be and fight for their shirt."

Weymouth take on Dorchester later today at the Bob Lucas in their final pre-season friendly before opening their National League South campaign on Saturday August 10 away to Tonbridge.
