Dorchester Town 2
Bemerton Heath Harlequins 1
Dorchester continued their impressive 100 per cent record with another pre-season win at The Avenue.
Goals from Wayne Robinson and Sean Wright sealed victory for Tom Killick's side who make it four wins out of four.
The Magpies got off to a flying start with Olaf Koszela seeing his first minute effort tipped over the bar by Harlequins keeper.
It didn't take long though for the hosts to find themselves in front as Robinson's powerful effort bounced in off the post just two minutes later.
With a quarter-of-an-hour played, The Magpies came close again as Luke Roberts cut in from the left wing, only to see his effort come back off the wrong side of the woodwork.
A few minutes later Roberts was again causing problems but the forward fired his shot over the bar.
Half an hour in and it was the turn of Koszela to cause the visitors trouble with a low drive which forced the Quins keeper to palm it away.
Another chance soon fell to Kyran Samedi who headed wide at the back post meaning Killick's side would take just a 1-0 lead into the break.
Not long after the restart Bemerton found an equaliser and pulled level.
The Magpies looked to reinstate their lead straight away as Wes Fogden whipped in a cross, only for Will Spetch's header to go agonisingly over the bar.
With just over an hour played, Killick decided to make several changes, bringing Harry Redknapp Jr, Corby Moore, Matt Buse, Luke Pardoe, Shaquile Gwengwe and Jack Dickson off the bench, replacing Robinson, Samadi, Spetch, Koszela, Roberts and Jordan Ngalo
With the score level and time running out there were shouts for a penalty in the 77th minute.
Fogden appeared to be pushed in the back but the ref was not interested.
As the game entered the final ten minutes, Pardoe skipped passed two defenders on the wing before finding Fogden who was unable to find the target with his shot.
It was Wright who would find the winner in the 88th minute.
The midfielder volleying home from a loose ball in the box after a corner from Moore caused chaos in the box.
The Magpies maintain their winning run of form having now won all four of their pre-season friendlies.
Next up for The Magpies the visit of Larkhall Athletic to The Avenue on Tuesday, July 30 at 7,45pm.
Killick's side then wrap up pre-season with a trip to the Bob Lucas on August, 3.
