Weymouth boss Mark Molesley believes his new signings have 'settled in well' at the club.

The Terras boss was speaking after his side drew 2-2 with National League side Eastleigh at the Bob Lucas - maintaining their unbeaten start to pre-season.

New signing Francis Amartey put in a stellar performance as he grabbed two goals to put the Terras into a 2-1 lead at half time.

A late equaliser from the Spitfires Paul McCallum meant the spoils were shared, but Molesley has been impressed with how quickly his new signings have fitted in.

He told Echosport: "I think all the new players have settled in well.

"A lot of them were known to us and we already had an understanding.

"We have signed good players and they have gelled well, but there is still a long way to go.

"There were some green shoots from the game, which was against good opposition, but we still have a lot of hard work ahead."

Next up for Molesley's side is a visit from AFC Bournemouth's under-21 team at the Bob Lucas on Saturday, July 21.

The Terras boss is hoping to keep building on the team's fitness, but also start working on the side's tactical set up.

He added: "It's going to be a combination of things (against AFC Bournemouth under-21s), but we will be looking to grow the fitness, they are a full time side, so they will be fit and it will push us fitness wise.

"But, the deeper we go into pre-season, we have to start looking at the tactical side, and build relationships.

"The tactical now comes to the forefront and we can start to look like what we want to be next season."

Kick off on Saturday against the Cherries under-21s is at 2pm.
