DORCHESTER Town have been handed a huge home meeting with Havant & Waterlooville on the opening day of the 2024/25 Southern League Premier South season.

The Hawks visit the Avenue on Saturday, August 10 following relegation from the National League South last term and were in the National League as recently as 2019.

In what is a highly challenging August, the Magpies then visit Tiverton Town and Basingstoke Town, two sides in rebuild mode.

Dorchester then entertain another relegated club in Gloucester City on Saturday, August 24 before travelling to Winchester City on Bank Holiday Monday.

The tough fixtures continue in the ultra-competitive tier as the Magpies face two promoted sides, first Frome Town at home on Saturday, September 7.

A Wednesday evening game at Gosport follows before the Magpies welcome Isthmian South Central champions Chertsey Town on Saturday, September 21.

Dorchester then host league favourites AFC Totton three days later.

Dorchester travel to Isthmian South Central play-off winners Marlow and Sholing to begin October, before hosting Hanwell Town and Plymouth Parkway, two sides who narrowly stayed up last season.

Five league fixtures follow in November, with away trips to Swindon Supermarine and Bracknell Town beginning the month.

Merthyr Town and Taunton Town visit Dorchester on Saturday, November 16 and 23 respectively before a trip to Dorset neighbours Wimborne Town one week later.

Dorchester go home-away-home to commence December, starting by hosting Hungerford then travelling to Walton & Hersham and then entertaining Tiverton on Saturday, December 21.

In a busy festive schedule containing three matches, Tom Killick will make his return to Poole Town on Boxing Day.

The Magpies then host Basingstoke Town two days later before making the short trip to Winchester City on New Year’s Day.

Tough away days at Havant and Merthyr come next before Bracknell Town and Sholing stop off at the Avenue.

February contains only four league games, beginning on Saturday 1 when Dorchester visit Hanwell.

Dorchester then go home-away-home with Swindon Supermarine, Plymouth Parkway and Wimborne all falling on Saturdays.

Alternate away-home games follow in March with Taunton, Gosport, Chertsey, Marlow and AFC Totton.

The same alternate away-home structure defines the run-in as Dorchester begin April with a trip to Gloucester City on Saturday 5.

Walton & Hersham come to Dorset seven days later before Dorchester visit Frome on Easter Saturday and host Poole Town on Easter Monday.

Their final match is away to Hungerford Town on Saturday, April 26.
