WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley hailed the arrival of “fantastic footballers” Euan Pollock and Ben Greenwood after the duo signed for the Terras.

Pollock and Greenwood were unveiled as Weymouth players in the build-up to the Terras’ 0-0 draw at Wimborne Town.

Having left AFC Bournemouth during the summer, the ex-Cherries duo have found a new home westward along the coast with the Terras.

They both link up again with Molesley having previously worked together in the Cherries’ developmental ranks.

Weymouth have now secured 16 players for the 2024/25 Vanarama National League South season.

Speaking to Weymouth’s media team following the 0-0 draw, Molesley highlighted the pair’s strengths,

He said: “First and foremost, they’re fantastic footballers. They’re technically very good but also they read the game very well as well.

“I’ve worked with them before and anything I’ve thrown at them they haven’t blinked at, they’ve just took it on board.

“You can really see their quality, their hard work. Two really good characters, I loved working with them before and I can’t wait to work them now.

“This football club is providing a good platform for players who maybe need to showcase themselves, have that (lucky) break in football and get those men’s games under their belt.

“I think they’re two fantastic signings, we’ve done ever so well to get them to the football club. It just shows they think there’s something good here for them.”

Announcing the signing of Pollock on social media, the Terras added: “Weymouth FC is delighted to announce the signing of Euan Pollock (subject to FA approval).

“A talented, young, forward, Euan brings a wealth of skill and potential to our squad. Having featured with Bournemouth more recently Euan has opted to keep his seaside town tradition by putting pen to paper and committing to claret and blue for the 2024/25 season.

“We are excited to see him on the field and contributing to our aimed success on the field this season. Welcome to Weymouth, Euan.”

Upon signing Greenwood, Weymouth added: “Weymouth FC is excited to announce the signing of Ben Greenwood!

“Having developed his skills at Bournemouth FC, Ben has shown himself to be a solid and dependable defender. His experience and commitment make him a great fit.

“We’re looking forward to seeing his talent and hard work further strengthen our defence. Welcome to The Terras, Ben!”

Weymouth’s next pre-season assignment comes at home to Step 1 side Eastleigh on Tuesday (7pm).
