WIMBORNE TOWN 0
WEYMOUTH 0
WEYMOUTH recorded a third straight clean sheet in pre-season but were held to a 0-0 draw by Wimborne Town at the Wyatt Homes Stadium.
Weymouth began on the front foot as new signing Euan Pollock closed keeper Ross Flitney down and Brandon Goodship scuffed his attempted lob from 30 yards.
Weymouth were creating all the chances at this stage and another one drifted away when Ben Greenwood, also unveiled as a new recruit prior to kick-off, crossed fractionally too high for Keelan O’Connell who could not control his header.

Were it not for a Goodship slip and a stray cutback, Weymouth would have had two more chances in the box.
However, their half took a turn for the worse when Malachi Linton hobbled off injured, Will Armstrong his replacement.
Corey Jordan poked a corner at Flitney before Weymouth suffered a second injury, this time Goodship clutching his calf and going off for Ezio Touray 38 minutes in.
Touray’s first involvement was to volley at goal, bringing a tremendous tip-over save from Flitney, before Jordan’s dipping header forced another good stop from the ex-Eastleigh custodian.
Weymouth introduced Francis Amartey for Armstrong to rebalance their side at the break and he was quickly impactful, collecting a stray pass and starting an attack which led to Pollock sweeping just wide from Keelan O’Connell’s low ball.
Amartey then tested Flitney with a deflected drive having surged in from the left and manager Mark Molesley opted for a treble change on the hour.
On came Trialist A, a striker, plus Will Keita and Leo Hamblin, for Josh McQuoid, Pollock and Jordan.
Trialist A’s first action was to trip Drew Eccott-Young and concede a free-kick that Harry Morgan whipped just wide of the far post.
Wimborne should have scored 68 minutes in when former Weymouth midfielder Dan Neild fired low at Gerard Benfield after smart work from sub Will Fletcher.
Weymouth could only respond with a rising free-kick from Brooklyn Genesini before another hat-trick of subs.
Armstrong was re-introduced along with Kelson Pollard and Joe Wragg at the expense of Tom Bearwish, Greenwood and O’Connell.
Wragg intelligently spread play to Amartey to spark Weymouth’s next chance as the winger danced into the box and fired at Flitney from a narrow angle.
Weymouth could have won it in the 89th minute as Trialist A worked space for a shot 18 yards out but Flitney was once more Wimborne’s saviour with a brave block.
