DORCHESTER Town manager Tom Killick appears content with his current squad for the 2024/25 season but did not rule out making further additions.

Killick has this summer spoken at length regarding the difficulties of competing with other wealthier clubs in Dorset and the surrounding area for players at Steps 2 to 4.

However, he has now signed a core squad of 18 players including seven in the past week alone.

Ieuan Turner, Lewis Toms, Sean Wright and Matt Buse join trio Wayne Robinson, Kyran Samadi and Wes Fogden in that group.

Previously, Killick had already secured Harry Hutchinson, Tom Bragg, Harry Redknapp Jr, Shaq Gwengwe, Jordan Ngalo, Jack Dickson, Corby Moore, Will Spetch, Olaf Koszela, Luke Pardoe and Luke Roberts.

Discussing his summer business, Killick told Echosport: “I must admit, it hasn’t been straightforward.

“There’s quite a few players that I’ve approached and not been able to sign.

“It’s been quite up and down because there’s been some disappointments.

“When I reflect now on what we’ve managed to assemble, I’m very pleased. The signs so far in the early training sessions have been really positive.

“Often at this stage, I’ve had seasons as a manager where you might be looking for two players, three, four.

“I’m not ruling out that there might be some additions at a very low level in terms of numbers. If the season was starting tomorrow and I had this group, I’d be very happy.

“That’s all you can ask for, really. Obviously, Shaun (Hearn, chairman) has arrived and the club has been very supportive.

“The club are very keen to kick on next season. We’re all on the same page.”

Dorchester’s next friendly comes at home to Rayners Lane on Saturday, July 20 (3pm).
