DORCHESTER Town have secured defender Ieuan Turner and midfielder Lewis Toms for the 2024/25 Southern League Premier South season.

Turner, a former Magpies under-18 and under-23 captain, stepped up to become a regular and reliable part of the Dorchester first-team squad in the previous campaign.

This included a memorable display at Poole Town, coming on after only seven minutes for the injured Jack Wright and giving an immaculate display.

His introduction at Poole was one of 23 appearances and he netted his first senior goal in the 3-1 loss at Basingstoke Town.

Boss Tom Killick told the Magpies’ official website: “Ieuan was brilliant in all the opportunities that he got, showed up really well and was an integral part of the good run of form we had at the end of last season.

“He deputised for Will and Ed on a number of occasions, and just whenever called upon didn't let us down, and at such a young age I think it’s a really big statement that he made.

“When we got the opportunity to get him back full time as far as I was concerned I didn't hesitate. It also helps that Ieuan wants to be here, he was very keen to come back, so altogether it is ideal.”

Toms, meanwhile, continued to gain experience with the first-team squad while excelling for the Magpies' under-23s.

He was named players' player of the season for the 2023/24 campaign.

Killick added: “He loves the club. He's here on his abilities and he’s here on merit, and he is going to have a chance to stake his claim during pre-season.

"Nothing would please me more if he ended up being a regular part of the squad.

"He has got a lot of attributes and I’m very happy to have Lewis back.”
