PORTLAND United have announced a six-game pre-season programme ahead of the 2024/25 Velocity Wessex League Premier Division term.

Kyle Critchell’s Blues begin with three away fixtures, followed by a hat-trick of home games.

Their first match comes against Sturminster Newton United, newly promoted to Step 6, in a friendly held at the neutral venue of Shaftesbury on Wednesday, July 3 (7.45pm).

Portland travel to Bridport, another Step 6 side, on Saturday, July 6 (3pm) before heading to Blandford School for a meeting with Dorset Premier League outfit Blandford United on Thursday, July 11 (7.30pm).

Portland are given the weekend off before returning to action against Steve Tully’s Poole Town on Tuesday, July 16 (7.30pm).

South West Peninsula League club Bovey Tracey travel from Devon to the Camp & Satherley Stadium on Saturday, July 20 (1pm) and the Blues round off pre-season by hosting Holt United seven days later (3pm).
