FORMER Weymouth captain Jake McCarthy has departed Havant & Waterlooville by mutual consent.
McCarthy, who skippered the Hawks last season, scored 21 league goals in more than 120 appearances in the National League South.
However, the midfielder was part of a disastrous campaign for the Hampshire side as they slipped down to Southern League Premier South.
It therefore comes as no surprise that McCarthy, one of Havant’s best players, has agreed to part company.
Havant said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to Jake for his tireless efforts over his three seasons and over 100 appearances as a Hawk and wish him well for the future.”

He has 182 appearances for the Terras, scoring 29 times.
Elsewhere, former Dorchester Town striker Harvey Bradbury has moved to Westfield Park as Havant seek an instant return to Step 2.
