DORSET are well in the hunt for qualification to the next stage of the NCCA T20 competition going into a gruelling double-header this Bank Holiday weekend.

Luke Webb’s men make the long trip to Truro to face Cornwall for two matches tomorrow, having played for their clubs this afternoon.

They must then head back to Dorset to entertain Devon for two derby matches at Wimborne on Monday. On both days matches begin at 11am and 2.30pm.

Despite a double washout against Wiltshire last weekend, Dorset are second in the table.

On facing Cornwall, Webb told Echosport: “It’s a bit odd having not played much and the group stage will be concluded on Monday.

“Cornwall are a good side and came very close to winning the whole competition last year. They’ve got some dangerous players, so it will not be easy.

“At this stage, because we’ve not really been out on the field, it’s more of a focus on ourselves.”

Looking ahead to Devon, he added: “We’ve played well against Devon when we’ve come up against them the last couple of years.

“It’s unique this season due to the lack of cricket. Come Monday, I’m pretty sure any team can finish first or last.”

Dorset are without Felix Organ due to Hampshire commitments, meaning Lucas del Bianco comes into the 12-man squad for both games.
