STURMINSTER MARSHALL 0

BALTI Sports eased past embattled Sturminster Marshall 11-0 to record their biggest Dorset Premier League win of the season.

Balti were only 3-0 up at half-time as the spirited Marsh, who have lost every game this season, made them work hard for victory.

However, Stef Stavrianos netted a quintuple in the second half and Matty Chambers bagged a hat-trick as Balti racked up the goals.

There was still time for Weymouth Under-23s’ 17-year-old talent Alfie Stone to score his maiden senior goal and register an assist as Carl Mutch and Reece Starr also notched.

Balti boss Marco Nott said: “We were 3-0 up and I don’t think we were amazing first half.

“In the second half we were a lot more clinical and ruthless. The goalscoring was crazy, really. Stef scored five in the second half alone.

“He’s a real confidence player and he needed that, so it’s good to see him score. Matt is the same, he’s been pretty much ever-present.

“Keeping a clean sheet as well, it was a perfect day for the lads. Credit to Stur Marshall for doing what they’re doing and to keep going.”

Balti move on to host Swanage on Saturday (3pm).

Nott added: “Hopefully we can keep the confidence going. Swanage is another chance to nick three points. They beat us comfortably at their place.

“We’ve got six games left so it would be great to try and end well. Hopefully that result kick-starts us a bit.”

Sami Nichols returns along with Ollie James.
