ANOTHER professional away performance from Dorchester Town handed them a 1-0 win at relegation-threatened Hayes & Yeading United.

Luke Pardoe’s 16th-minute goal extended to nine games the Magpies’ unbeaten run, Tom Killick’s men having lost only once in 15 Pitching In Southern League Premier South matches.

Killick made just one change from the side that began the against-all-odds 2-1 win over Tiverton last time out.

Will Spetch was suspended, meaning Ieuan Turner came in to replace him.

Turner was promoted from the bench, leaving attacking option Luke Roberts to take his place.

Lewis Waterfield, Jonny Efedje, Will Fletcher and Drew Eccott-Young were the Magpies' other alternatives in the dugout.

In a hectic opening, Dorchester skipper Jordan Ngalo drove over in the second minute before United struck the base of the post from 30 yards, Tommy Wood the unlucky man.

Tarik Moore-Azille also headed off target for the hosts but the Magpies would score what proved to be the decisive goal through Pardoe.

Shaq Gwengwe’s effort was parried away by home keeper Dillon Addai but Pardoe reacted quickest to tuck home the rebound for 1-0.

Turner narrowly headed wide on 22 minutes as Dorchester chased a second goal, Ngalo and Corby Moore also drilling over from range midway through the half.

The Magpies took a blow on 37 minutes when the lively Marcus Daws went off injured, allowing Jonny Efedje almost an hour from the bench.

No further chances came for either side before the break, after which Dorchester conducted themselves superbly.

The Magpies barely conceded a chance, while creating plenty of their own, as Olaf Koszela fired just wide in the 49th minute.

Wood blazed over in response but Dorchester were otherwise untroubled as they shut out the hosts, who began the day in 20th place and in need of three points in their first game under new boss Andy Leese.

Hayes used their substitutes in a bid to put Dorchester under pressure but the Magpies, whose spirit has been on full display in the last week, again were unperturbed.

Instead, they saw a catalogue of openings fall their way as Addai pushed away Ngalo’s fizzing low shot and sub Fletcher, on for Gwengwe, joined the list of those denied by the keeper in the 85th minute after being picked out from a free-kick.

Koszela drilled an 88th-minute chance wide and was replaced by Waterfield as Killick opted to shore up the Magpies’ defence ahead of four minutes of stoppage-time.

And, in a clear sign of United’s frustration, Wood was sent off for a second caution to compound the Middlesex side’s afternoon.

Dorchester did not bat an eyelid, though, as the league’s most in-form team continued their remarkable run, rising to 11th in the table ahead of Basingstoke.

The Magpies visit Sholing for a rearranged game on Tuesday (7.45pm).
