WEYMOUTH have confirmed former manager Jason Matthews as their interim boss, following the mutual departure of manager Bobby Wilkinson.
Matthews will be joined by Josh McQuoid as assistant, with the Weymouth midfielder currently fighting his way back to fitness after treatment for a sarcoma in his leg.
Weymouth earlier confirmed the exits of Wilkinson’s backroom staff, Mike Percival, Chris Humphries and Lea Barkus.
Matthews last managed Weymouth in 2017, prior to the appointment of Mark Molesley as boss.
In a statement, Weymouth said: “Following the recent announcement, we can confirm that Jason Matthews will assume the role of interim manager for the first team. Joining him as his assistant will be Josh McQuoid.

“Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Georgie Turner will continue her duties as the club’s physiotherapist, while Lloyd Green will remain in his position as kit manager.
“We extend our best wishes to Jason and Josh as they undertake their interim responsibilities with the club.”
Matthews will be tasked with leading Weymouth at Bath City on Good Friday, with a derby against arch-rivals Yeovil looming on Monday.
McQuoid, meanwhile, has made no secret of his desire to begin coaching and has been involved in some training sessions with Weymouth this season.
McQuoid has also returned to some running work but is understood to be out for the remainder of the season in a playing capacity.
