CAME Down Golf Club is celebrating after one of their greenkeepers was selected to work with the team at The Open later this summer.
James Lockwood, Came’s head greenkeeper, will be part of the squad tending to the course at Royal Troon between Thursday, July 18 and Sunday, July 21.
Every year the R&A offers up a number of places for greenkeepers from across the country to be selected to work at the championships.
A Came Down spokesperson said: “It is a fantastic opportunity for James to be involved in the world’s most prestigious golfing event, where he will be working alongside the country’s most experienced greenkeepers.
