“CONFIDENT” Dorchester Sports will respect the quality of Bridport Reserves ahead of their Dorset Premier League derby at St Mary’s Field tomorrow (2pm).

Sports go into the game with four victories in five league games, the last of which being the 16-0 hammering of struggling Sturminster Marshall.

But boss Ashley James believes the Bees are better than their current placing of 14th and is not taking the fixture for granted.

He told Echosport: “It’s a tough place to go and the league table doesn’t quite show the true reflection of their team.

“Off the back of a good win, though, we’ll be confident we can get the three points.

“We’ve got to forget about last week now, and concentrate on Saturday. Hopefully the confidence will leave us in good stead.

“It’s going to be a much tougher test and they’re fighting for points down the bottom.”

James added: “The squad we’ve now put together I think can win most games in this league.

“I’m hoping we can use these last 12 games now as a stepping stone for next season and accumulate as many points as we can.”

Sports welcome back Ash Smith, Toby Read, Josh Leake and Sam Duncalf but Nick Hutchings misses out.
