BOVEY TRACEY 3
BRIDPORT 3
BRIDPORT let slip a 3-1 lead in the final 10 minutes as Bovey Tracey hit back to earn a point in a thrilling South West Peninsula League Premier East contest.
The two teams have now plundered 11 goals in two games after Bridport’s 3-2 win earlier in the season, in which the Bees came from 2-0 down to steal the points.
This time, the shoe was on the other foot as Bridport were reeled in. It leaves the Bees without a win from their past four league games.
Bridport did take the lead when Riley Weedon converted from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute and, barring a Lewis Perring free-kick which flew straight at keeper Jordon Scadding, Bridport were untroubled.

That was until James Watts-Barciela profited from Perring’s quickly-taken free-kick and accurate diagonal, setting him up one-on-one with Scadding and equalising for 1-1.
In the second half, it took only eight minutes for Bridport to retake the lead as Brayden Jones scored his first goal for the club.
All Bovey could offer was a wayward Neil Last shot, before the Bees made it 3-1 when Weedon beat keeper Dom Aplin for a second time to register his 11th goal of the season.
Bridport has previously missed one-on-ones for Fred Parsons and Jones, while Weedon squandered a decent opening and Will Gape headed off target.
The Bees were punished when Bovey scored twice late on, Josh Haynes picking up a pass from Weymouth Under-23s winger Kelson Pollard and burying a slightly scuffed finish.
Bridport did not manage the game sufficiently in the remaining time as Haynes this time turned provider for Watts-Barciela to stroke home on 85 minutes.
Bees’ boss Chris Herbst said: “Ten minutes to go, 3-1 up and it should’ve been more.
“It’s the same conversation, saying how we haven’t put the game to bed. It’s just frustrating. I don’t understand how we haven’t won it.
“We’ve got to manage the game better. We had six or seven really good chances, it’s so annoying. It should’ve been three points, no doubt about it.”
Bridport visit Torridgeside on Saturday (3pm).
Bees: Jo Scadding, Brook, Calverley, King, Leader (Rowe 46), Daniels, Owen (Baggs 82), Gape (T Diaz 78), Weedon, Jones, Parsons.
