TOM Killick described as a “missed opportunity” Dorchester Town’s 0-0 home draw with 10-man Plymouth Parkway.

A goalless first half was characterised by a story of two goalkeepers in no mood to concede as Dorchester's Jameson Horlick twice denied Jack Crago.

Olaf Koszela and Drew Eccott-Young were then thwarted by Adam Parkes, but Parkway lost a man when Shane White was booked twice in 36 seconds for a foul and dissent.

Despite piling on the pressure in the second half, Dorchester could not budge Parkes who made a superb late save from Shaq Gwengwe.

Dorchester dropped into 19th spot after Tiverton’s surprise 4-2 win over Poole, and Killick felt an extra two points had passed the Magpies by.

He told Echosport: “I think we’re frustrated and feel it’s probably a missed opportunity in terms of how the game panned out with them losing a man and it being pretty much wave after wave of attacks on our part for a significant period of the second half.

“Bearing in mind we had all that possession, all that territory, we had so many deliveries into that box, you do feel you’ve got to show enough quality to get the goal that gets you three points.

“Understandably, they pretty much sacrificed themselves as an attacking force and just sat in with the intent of keeping a clean sheet.

“It was just a question of us trying to build our attacks, trying to penetrate. It wasn’t through a lack of effort.

“You could see there was a real desire for us to try and win. The players put everything in, it was just we were a little blunt. We didn’t create anything clear-cut.

“It was always going to be difficult to carve things out because they were defending so deep.

“It was a question of ending up with balls into their box, which they dealt with very well, that’s probably where we came up a bit short.

“Could we have been better in terms of our delivery? And certainly could we have been more dynamic and better in terms of how we moved and attacked those crosses.

“There were a few too close to their goalkeeper that got them out of jail. Credit to their goalkeeper, their defenders.

“But, overall, the way the game panned out, the overwhelming emotion is frustration.”

Dorchester travel to bottom side Didcot Town on Saturday (3pm).
