FORMER Weymouth striker Warren Bentley has hung up his boots following a spell with Winchester City.
Bentley joined Weymouth in the famous Southern League-winning 2018/2019 season but managed only one goal due to the outstanding form of Brandon Goodship, Josh McQuoid and Ben Thomson.
And his Weymouth stay was curtailed by a serious head injury, picked up in a training ground incident, that caused the striker to temporarily shelve playing and work commitments.
He eventually left Weymouth in May 2019, his only goal coming in a 2-2 draw with Hartley Wintney.

Bentley is famed for bagging a whopping 113 goals in two seasons at Winchester before stepping up two divisions with Gosport.
Winchester chairman Ken Raisbeck paid tribute to Bentley, who enjoyed a distinguished non-League career at the likes of Poole Town, Gosport, Hungerford and Salisbury.
He said: “Firstly, I would like to congratulate Warren on such a wonderful career and wish him all the very best in his retirement from football.
“I am sure I speak for everyone connected with Winchester City FC in thanking him for his outstanding contribution to the history of our club and Warren will live long in the memory as a true club legend.
“We wish Warren and his family every happiness for the future.”
Citizens’ manager Craig Davis added: “Not only does he excel on the pitch but he is a top bloke in the dressing room and in and around our club.”
