THE “sky is the limit” for Portland United this season, according to manager Kyle Critchell.
Having climbed up to seventh in the Velocity Wessex League Premier Division table, the Blues now have behind them a hugely challenging month.
Portland lost to top-four sides Moneyfields and AFC Stoneham in the league and also exited the league cup to another top-four side in AFC Portchester.
However, the islanders have an enticing December ahead with fixtures against struggling bottom-six clubs Hythe & Dibden, Christchurch and Bournemouth Poppies.

While Critchell stopped short of raising hopes of the play-offs, Portland are one point adrift of fifth with two games in hand on incumbents Brockenhurst.
“The sky is the limit this season,” he told Echosport.
“We’re winning games in a variety of ways and we’re digging in at times.
“It just shows the togetherness of the team. Who knows where we’ll finish at the end of the season?”
Portland host Hythe on Saturday (3pm).
