BRIDPORT will look to return to winning ways when they host Verwood Town in the Dorset Senior Cup first round this evening (7.30pm).
The Bees lost a top-of-the-table clash 2-0 at Ivybridge on Saturday, ending a month’s wait for a game following poor weather and postponements.
However, they now face fellow Step 6 opposition in the county cup and know victory would earn them a quarter-final spot.
Verwood are currently 12th in Wessex League Division One and Bridport assistant Mark Lock is confident ahead of facing the Potters.
He said: “There should be plenty of confidence.

"As far as I’m concerned it’s a great opportunity to get back to winning ways and continue into the next round.
“There should be no problem for us to turn them over. It’s like a free game to maybe experiment with moving a few players around.
“We’re still looking at who to play and where. We’ve got dead certs but there’s a few we could move around, just to freshen it up and learn a few more things about the team.”
Fred Parsons and Darren Lock are set to return to face Verwood.
“We’ll probably start Fred, because he’s a good player,” assistant Lock added.
“He’s been doing the holding role recently. He can ghost round people, just glides, he’s a superb little player.
“He gives us something a bit more attacking and he’s good in the air as well.”
