PORTLAND United have been drawn away to Wells City in the Isuzu FA Vase second round.
Kyle Critchell’s men beat Torpoint Athletic 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in Cornwall on Saturday and are bidding to go one better than their previous second-round appearance in 2016.
On that occasion, the Blues lost 2-1 to Blackfield & Langley but, after drawing a side in Step 6, hopes are high Portland can improve on that display.
Wells ply their trade in Toolstation Western League Division One and advanced to this stage courtesy of a 5-4 win on penalties against Laverstock & Ford, divisional rivals of Portland’s in the Wessex League.
