DORCHESTER 33
DORCHESTER made easy work of promoted side Corsham, winning their Counties One Tribute Southern South clash 33-0 in Wiltshire.
On a perfect day, Dorchester produced an excellent display of controlled rugby, running in five unanswered tries and whitewashing their opponents.
Starting on the front foot, Dorchester had Corsham pinned in their own half when winger Brook Legg won the race for Jack Adams’ grubber kick though the home defence.
Callum King’s conversion attempt went wide but shortly after the county town’s other winger, Cohen Emery, picked off an errant pass and went in under the posts. King had no trouble with the extras this time.

The visitors continued to dominate and their upper hand at scrum time was rewarded when skipper Steve Tucker scored a pushover try.
Corsham’s frustration was showing as they tried increasingly ambitious passes.
This time it was King who caught the interception and although he was caught short of the try line, Adams was on hand to take the offload and touch down for the bonus-point try, King successful with both conversions.
With a comfortable 26-0 lead, Dorchester controlled the second half barely allowing Corsham any time in their 22.
King did cross for a fifth try, powering his way over from close range and Alex Peel added the extras to complete the day’s scoring.
There was also time to give Callum Mullins a first-team debut, coming on for the final 15 minutes.
The result keeps Dorchester in sixth place in the league table, just one point off fifth-placed Frome who they entertain in two weeks’ time.
Next week’s opponents, Weymouth & Portland, took a heavy 38-0 defeat at home against fellow Dorset side Swanage & Wareham.
The county town outfit will be keen to keep the momentum building at Surcouf Park in the upcoming Ridgeway Rumble.
Dorchester’s other two senior teams, who were both scheduled to play in cup competitions, both had walkovers awarded when their respective oppositions could not raise teams for the games.
