LEGENDARY football star Kevin Keegan is set to grace Weymouth for a club fundraiser at Hotel Rembrandt on Saturday (7pm).
His appearance is part of a club night for Weymouth-based Balti Sports, who have held similar events in past years featuring Matt le Tissier, Paul Merson and Neil Ruddock.
Keegan, 72, captained and managed England in an exalted career, scoring 21 times in 63 games for the Three Lions.
He also won the Ballon d’Or, then the award for Europe’s best player, in 1978 and 1979 while with Hamburg and won the Bundesliga title in 1980.

Keegan’s biggest chunk of success came at Liverpool, where he won the European Cup, three First Division titles, the UEFA Cup twice and the FA Cup.
He also managed Manchester City, Newcastle United and played for Southampton in a rich footballing career.
Balti boss Nott, himself a huge Newcastle fan, told Echosport: “It’s special. He rung me up (Tuesday) and had a chat to me on the phone which was a bit surreal.
“He’s a class act and you don’t get much bigger in footballing terms.
“’Legend’ gets banded about quite a lot these days, but he is. It’s going to be an amazing night and certainly one to remember.”
Funds raised from events such as these are often critical to a club’s existence, with Balti being no different.
Nott added: “They mean everything. There are obviously teams in our league paying for players.
“We’ve tried to make sure our players don’t have to pay to play now. Fundraisers are crucial to keeping this club alive because we’re not fortunate enough to have lots of money.
“We’ve obviously had three memorable nights now and I think we’ve trumped all of them with getting Kev here, so I’m delighted.”
At the time of writing only five tickets remain, at £50 each, including a talk by Keegan, comedy and a meal.
There will also be a raffle, auction and live music from Slight Return. Call Nott for more details on 07885 678027.
