FOLLOWING the opening loss of the season at home, tomorrow’s Counties One Tribute Southern South league fixture gives Dorchester the chance to go again against Somerset near rivals Yeovil at Surcouf Park (3pm).
Although the side lost on the road last Saturday, director of rugby Martin Oxland still sees many positives from both games so far this term.
Oxland said: “This was another game where there were positives to take from a competitive first half.
“A similar story to the previous week in some ways, and there were areas of our game that put Walcot under pressure, and we will need to impose them against Yeovil tomorrow.

“The squad have trained well again this week with the conversations around putting in an 80-minute performance.
“If we focus on the mental and compete for the duration physically, then the coaching team are confident the group can produce a positive outcome.”
Selection will again take place late on Thursday as the squad has some injuries including both Brook Legg and Brad Mullins with head injuries alongside Kieran Fry with a broken nose.
Adding in some availability issues this see some enforced changes in the matchday squad.
Coming back into the starting line-up is Alex Peel at fly-half and Ollie Wills following a successful season with Dorset & Wilts Under-20s joins the club to make his debut in the second row.
Dorchester’s second team will start their league campaign, with captain Jamie Jackson taking his side to lock horns with Salisbury Thirds at Castle Road (3pm).
Jackson will be looking to improve on last season’s second place in what looks to be a very competitive Counties Three Tribute Dorset & Wilts table.
The club’s next generation of senior players, the Colts, will entertain Royal Wootton Bassett at Surcouf Park on Sunday (2pm) to complete the weekend.
In the same division, Weymouth & Portland travel to early leaders Royal Wootton Bassett Seconds.
Bridport begin their Counties Two Tribute Dorset & Wilts South campaign at home to Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds.
