WEYMOUTH manager Bobby Wilkinson praised his Terras side for their work rate in trying circumstances during the 2-0 loss at leaders Worthing.
Goals in each half from Sonny Fish and Ricky Aguiar, the latter a contentious penalty for handball, handed the Reds all three points.
Weymouth were denied a goal of their own by a tremendous Rocco Rees save, somehow keeping out Leo Hamblin’s effort, and the Terras finished with ten men as Teddy Howe saw red for dissent.
But with Weymouth’s injury and illness list mounting, Wilkinson was only able to name four subs and he applauded his players for their resolve.

He told Weymouth’s media team: “It’s a tough place to come to. What a shift they put in with all the injuries we’ve got and a few players missing.
“It was a tough day at the office in certain areas. The referee sent off Teddy because it was a personal thing, and he even told me that.
“When we’re 2-0 down and have a chance in the six-yard box and don’t score, that’s becoming a common thing now.
“But I have to say the boys put in a shift and kept working for the club and the badge. It’s a tough one to take but not to my boys, they were unbelievable.”
