FORMER Weymouth centre-back Nathan Carlyle has earned a deal with St Albans City for the 2023/24 Vanarama National League South campaign.
It means Carlyle could play against his previous employers in the opening game of the season on Saturday, August 5 when the Terras travel to Clarence Park.
Carlyle made 50 appearances for Weymouth last season, helping the club avoid successive relegations.
He was signed on a one-year deal by then boss David Oldfield after a successful spell of seven games, scoring one goal, while on loan from Championship side QPR.

Carlyle was the second player to leave Weymouth this summer, following the exit of Cameron Murray.
Taking to Twitter following his move, Carlyle said: “New home! Can’t wait to get started. Time to work.”
The Terras have since signed 19 players and look set to add more before the end of the season, fielding a number of unsigned players in their first three summer friendlies.
