WEYMOUTH mother and daughter Lisa and Marnie Worthington will compete at the European Triathlon Championships in Madrid on Friday representing the Great Britain age group team.
For Marnie this will be her first time representing Great Britain after qualifying last year, whilst injured, at the Eastbourne Sprint Triathlon Qualifier.
Lisa has represented the age group team back in 2021 in Valencia, remarkably qualifying five weeks after breast cancer surgery.
She qualified for the European and World Championships in 2022 but was unable to compete due to injury.

Marnie races locally for South Coast Sharks and has been competing in triathlon since the age of 13.
She has twice cycled from Dorset to Paris twice with her dad to watch the Tour de France aged 15 and 16.
Now 20, she studies physiotherapy at the University of East London and will be joined in Madrid by fellow Sharks teammates Giles Heaman, Chris May and Matt White who are all competing in the Olympic distance.
Marnie said: “I am so excited to compete for the Great Britain age group team in Madrid.
“I have always loved sports and started swimming at the age of three.
“My love for cycling started a lot earlier when I used to travel to nursery in London on the back of my dad’s bike aged two years old.
“I can still remember the feeling of the wind on my face as we battled through traffic.
“To compete with my mum will also be special, she’s a real inspiration to me.”
The European Triathlon Championships take place from Friday to Sunday.
