In the third quarter, Veterans’ GD Laura Osbourne continued to make life difficult for New Body’s shooters.

Despite this, New Body’s attack demonstrated great patience and were able to work the ball into more shooting opportunities, winning the third quarter 12-11.

New Body started the final quarter strongly as Veterans began to feel the pressure of holding their lead before stepping up the intensity.

The game became increasingly heated towards the end of the quarter, especially when New Body levelled the score to 40-40.

In the final few minutes, though, Veterans showed their grit and composure to score the final three goals and secure a win in this tough, competitive match.

BUGLERS 49

COASTAL CHEESE 20

COASTAL Cheese are still hunting their first Premier win of the season after a 49-20 loss to Buglers.

Buglers worked the ball well around the shooting circle, whilst GA Kat Frampton held good positions in the circle which allowed them to feed the ball into the circle seamlessly. Buglers led 10-5 at quarter-time.

Coastal coped well with the pressure in the second quarter and were better in working the ball down court.

Coastal GK Fran Gray stepped up the pressure on Buglers’ shooters in the third quarter, and defensive pressure from both teams resulted in errors and turnovers.

As the quarter went on, accurate passing from Buglers meant they increased their lead going into the final quarter.

Buglers continued to be the more consistent team in attack and paired with aggressive defending as Coastal were unable to consistently find a way through.

ARTIFEX KRAKENS 50

WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS B 30

ARTIFEX Krakens are top of Division One after a 50-30 win over Warmer Home Improvements A.

Krakens and Warmer B’s defenders started strong, denying passes into their opposition’s shooting circle early, Warmer B seeing WA Nancy Garmen make useful interceptions.

Krakens led 7-6 at quarter time but dominated the second quarter.

GD Lucy Astrid was pivotal in their defensive end, blocking passes and gaining rebounds.

However, Warmer B’s GA Amy Hallett persevered and sunk impressive long shots to keep Warmer B in the game as Krakens extended their lead to seven.

Unfortunate errors from Warmer B meant Krakens, thanks to accurate and direct passing from C Jess Cutler, extended their lead in the third quarter.

Krakens WA Molly Shewbridge came into her element in the final quarter, with powerful passes and dynamic movement in their attacking end.

Warmer B finished the game fighting, but Krakens were too strong in the end and took the win.

ZEST 25

EXE TRAINING 46

EXE Training inflicted Zest’s first Division Two loss of the summer with a 46-25 victory.

With fast play from the first whistle, Zest GK Lindsey Pollard kept hot-shooter Exe GS Maddy Crumpton out of the circle as much as possible.

Exe gained momentum through the first quarter and enjoyed a handy eight-goal lead at quarter-time.

Zest returned to court with vibrant spirit and defended well, with all players going for interceptions across the court, albeit unable to convert possession gains into goals as Exe extended their lead.

The fast pace continued in the third quarter, with an attacking flow to the game as shooters at both ends rewarded their teams’ efforts with goals.

Exe’s attack showed more precision than Zest’s, however, which allowed them to extend to 12 goals their lead before the final quarter.

Precision from Exe’s attack continued throughout the final quarter and meant they secured a good win over their promotion rivals.
