BUGLERS 38
McCARTHY STONE 22
BUGLERS got the new South & West Dorset League Premier Division summer season off to a flying start with a 38-22 victory over McCarthy Stone.
McCarthy dominated this at the start of the first quarter before Buglers caught up to their intensity and managed to sneak a one-goal lead.
Now that they had got going, Buglers were playing strongly.
Accurate shooting from GA Kat Frampton meant they extended their lead, although both teams were playing well and McCarthy’s GD Lauren Osgood kept them in the contest with clean interceptions.

As the rain began to fall, Buglers were pulling away on the scoreboard.
Despite excellent play, McCarthy were unable to keep up with Buglers who took a convincing win.
GUNGHO MARKETING 47
WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS B 14
GUNGHO Marketing claimed a convincing 47-14 victory over Warmer Home Improvements B in Division One.
Both teams made a strong start and seemed evenly matched, going goal-for-goal.
The game moved quickly with some good interceptions by Warmer B’s GD Rose Walters but Gungho opened a four-goal lead.
Gungho quickly extended their lead despite tactical changes from Warmer.
More effective changes followed for Warmer at half-time and they had much better flow down court throughout the third quarter.
Changing conditions did not deter Gungho’s shooters, who maintained their accuracy despite the wind and rain.
Warmer had a storming final quarter, playing with determination, taking advantage of Gungho’s mistakes and scoring quickly.
It was, however, not enough to catch up to Gungho’s lead and they took the win.
