WEYMOUTH Women have been shortlisted for a national accolade at the Women’s Football Awards next month.
Paul Tapper’s side has been nominated in the ‘grassroots initiative of the year’ category alongside nine other entrants.
Weymouth’s grassroots commitment has earned them the nomination, and they are up against formidable opponents include three Women’s Super League clubs.
West Ham’s player development pathway, Tottenham’s female talent pathway and Everton’s grassroots commitment have earned the trio their nominations.

The remaining six include TGI Fridays’ #CelebrateTheGame initiative, Agility Life Sciences’ GIFT grants, Sunderland AFC’s ‘For Our Girls’ scheme, Miss Kick Foundation’s ‘Team Up To Level Up’, Inspire Girls Football’s college programme and Manchester Laces’ ‘Inclusive To All’ campaign.
The awards, presented by ex-Lionesses striker Eni Aluko and former England centre-back Jamie Carragher, take place at the Nobu Hotel, London, on Thursday, May 25.
