WEYMOUTH Women helped celebrate and recognise sports leaders from Budmouth Academy after the successful completion of a national programme.
Weymouth captain Charlie Wilson, manager Paul Tapper and player Laura Stretch all took time out to celebrate at Budmouth.
Budmouth’s leaders completed 'Your Time', a learning programme designed to empower girls with the confidence to become leaders in sport.
The modular programme is the first of its kind and makes use of innovative, inclusive e-learning solutions like personalised avatars, combining these with peer-led support and practical learning opportunities.

The programme is fully funded by the Department of Education and is available to all state-funded schools in England.
Budmouth were one of just a few schools in the country that took up the opportunity.
Before being ready to put on a sport event, Budmouth’s leaders completed a series of online learning modules that focussed on developing the skills which help them to make a difference.
These included: Teamwork, communication, problem solving, self-belief and self-management.
After finishing the online learning, Budmouth organised an event for over 100 girls from the local primary schools with the aim of inspiring them to join a local sports club.
